Notice & Takedown Protocol — Last Updated: October 16, 2026
Get Reels respects the intellectual property rights of all content creators and copyright holders. We operate in full compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) (17 U.S.C. § 512) and applicable international copyright laws. This policy explains how copyright owners can submit infringement notices and how we respond.
1. Our Architecture & DMCA Safe Harbor
Get Reels qualifies for DMCA Safe Harbor protections under 17 U.S.C. § 512(a) as a "conduit" service provider. We operate as an ephemeral transient streaming proxy: when a user requests a URL, our server fetches a publicly accessible media stream and pipes it directly to the user's browser in real time. No media files are written to or stored on our servers at any point.
Because we do not store, host, cache, or index any third-party media content, there are no persistent copies of any copyrighted material on our infrastructure to remove. However, we take all copyright concerns seriously and will respond promptly to any valid infringement notice.
2. What Get Reels Can Do Upon a Valid DMCA Notice
While we do not host content, upon receipt of a valid DMCA takedown notice, we can take the following remedial actions:
- Block specific URLs or source domains from being processed by our tool.
- Add the infringing content URL(s) to a URL blocklist to prevent future processing requests.
- Refer the notice to the original platform (Instagram, etc.) where the content is hosted, as they are the appropriate parties for removing the hosted content.
3. How to Submit a DMCA Takedown Notice
To submit a valid DMCA takedown notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following elements:
- Identification of the copyrighted work: A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
- Identification of the infringing material: The specific URL(s) or content that you are requesting we block, with sufficient detail to allow us to locate it.
- Contact information: Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- Good faith belief statement: "I have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
- Accuracy statement: "I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in this notification is accurate, and that I am the copyright owner, or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed."
- Physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative.
⚠ Warning: Knowingly submitting a false DMCA claim is a violation of 17 U.S.C. § 512(f) and may expose you to civil liability for damages, costs, and attorneys' fees.
4. Designated Copyright Agent
Send all DMCA notices to our designated copyright agent:
Email (Preferred): dmca@getreels.in
Subject Line: DMCA Takedown Notice — [Description of Work]
Response Time: Within 48 business hours
5. Counter-Notice Procedure
If you believe that content was blocked as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to our Copyright Agent. A valid counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was blocked and its location before it was removed.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was blocked due to mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district, or if outside the United States, any judicial district in which Get Reels may be found.
6. Repeat Infringer Policy
Get Reels maintains a policy to terminate or restrict access to users who are found to be repeat infringers. We reserve the right to block IP addresses or rate-limit requests from users who repeatedly submit URLs to infringing content after receiving takedown notices.
7. Third-Party Platform Reporting
For the most effective resolution of copyright infringement, we strongly recommend also submitting a takedown notice directly to the platform hosting the original content:
